Kids in Sports

Many children participate in sports early on in their lives. It is important to create memories from their experiences. I would be lost without my camera. Cameras have come a long way and they are fun and easy to use. I have found some great products on Amazon if you are in the market for a new camera and/or accessories that go with it. I love to take lots of pictures of my son’s activities and I create a work of art in his baby book. It’s a lot of fun!

The Count Down Continues

Only 1 day, 0 hours, and 38 minutes left until Super Bowl XLII begins. With the Giants being the under dogs many are saying they don’t have a chance. But tomorrow is a new game; both teams start at 0, it’s anyone’s game. I am going for the under dogs…GIANTS ALL THE WAY!!!

Time to Play

I am playing in a city league womens basketball right now. Tonight was our first game…wow, I thought I was in shape. I have discovered that if you are in shape for one sport, that doesn’t mean you are invincable and can play anything. You can run on a tread mill every day, but once you step on the basketball court, oh man! My lungs are burning tonight. I run every day but I don’t sprint. There is a big difference. I feel like I haven’t run in months. On a positive note though, my team won and will play again next week.

Patriots or Giants?

So will New York’s decision to go to Arizona a day late affect the chances of winning? Some say yes and some say no. The Colts did it last year but one never knows. An extra night sleeping in their own beds may even be to their advantage. As a sportsman myself, it was always better to get a good nights sleep before the big game. They still won’t be able to do that but hey, every little bit helps right? New York has more players that haven’t been to the big show. Any banged up or injured players have a little more time to heal up before crunch time. So, who will it be???

Super Bowl XLII

All of you NFL fans, we have a big weekend coming up! Super Bowl XLII….who will win??? I have to brag here for just a moment. I attended the University of Phoenix online and had the pleasure of going to Arizona to graduate with all of my fellow online graduates. Why do I mention this? Where did we graduate you ask…..in the very same stadium that Super Bowl XLII will be played in on Sunday. The University of Phoenix Stadium is a beautiful site to see, even if the turf wasn’t down. What a great experience it was. I would have loved to hide out and wait for Sunday, February 3rd to come but then of course there is reality. Those who will be there will have a beautiful facility to enjoy! I can’t wait! Only 5 days 19 hours and 44 minutes til kickoff! GO GIANTS!!!

Class

What has happened to professional role models? Professional sports has really been on a downward spiral over the last ten years. When I was in elementary school there were tons of professional role models that I looked up to; it’s just not the same anymore. Back in the day you didn’t hear of players fighting fans, yelling profanities or head butting the referees, ending up in jail after a wild weekend, or biting a chunk out of someone’s ear. I realized there is a bad apple or two in every bunch but not at the extent that it is now. I’m not saying every professional athlete is bad, I’m just saying there are a lot more athlete’s in the news anymore because of poor decisions they have made.
